Gregory L. Spurlock is a native of Petersburg, VA. Pastor Spurlock accepted the call into the gospel ministry and was licensed to preach God’s Holy Word in January 1995 under the pastoral direction of Dr. A.L. Gee at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Petersburg, Virginia. In June 1997, he was ordained into the gospel ministry under the pastorate of Dr. Robert A. Diggs, Sr., also at Tabernacle Baptist Church. He served as pastor of the Lebanon Baptist Church in Surry, Virginia for 14 years. Pastor Spurlock studied Public Administration at Virginia State University.

He has a Bachelor of Arts in Religion and earned his Master of Divinity from Virginia University of Lynchburg (May 2009) & Master of Arts in Christian Education (MACE) from Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology @ Virginia Union (STVU- August 2015). With God’s help Pastor Spurlock will be transitioning into the Doctoral Program to become a doctoral learner in the near future @ STVU.
Pastor Spurlock has served as the Second Vice-Moderator, First Vice-Moderator, and Moderator of the Lebanon Virginia Baptist Association. He served as a Regional Vice President and a member of the Board of Evangelism for the Baptist General Convention. In 2008, Pastor Spurlock was appointed by the Baptist General Convention to serve as a Trustee of the Children’s Home of Virginia Baptist, Inc. and he is currently operating in the capacity as Chair of the Board of Trustees. He also serves as the president of Region Three of the Northern Virginia Baptist Association, consisting of fifteen different churches in Triangle, Woodbridge, Stafford, and Fredericksburg. Lastly, he is a member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. (Dulles/Leesburg Chapter).

Pastor Spurlock has been married over 20 years to the former Lottie Cassandra Mickens, an administrator in Loudoun County Public Schools. He is the proud father of three children: Ivana Danielle, Brandon Jaron Tucker, and Gregory Jr.
Pastor Spurlock was called to Oak Grove Baptist Church in February 2011 and started his assignment on April 24, 2011 (Resurrection Sunday).
He was installed as the pastor of Oak Grove Baptist Church on September 18, 2011. He and his family relocated to the Northern Virginia area during the Summer of 2011.
