Immunization Awareness Month 2026 This year in August, the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) is celebrating its first Virginia Immunization Awareness month. August is a great time to talk about the importance of immunizations while children and their families are returning back to school.   Ensuring children are up to date on their immunizations helps keep all children safe and healthy during the school year.
