Joan Lewis
Joan Aneita Lewis serves as an Associate Minister under the leadership of Aaron James, Interim Pastor and was ordained on November 3, 2024 by the Northern Virginia Baptist Association. Elder Lewis serves as the Chair of the Women’s Ministry and as member of the Intercessor Prayer Ministry.
Elder Lewis previously served at the Independent Church of God in Washington, DC and participated in the choir, was an usher, Pastor’s Helper and the Hospitality Ministry to name a few. Sent by God, with the blessing and support of her past pastor of OGBC, Pastor Gregory Spurlock, Minister Lewis served as the Ministerial Alliance at the Perfecting Strength Church in Prince Frederick, MD and supported Pastor Brenda Stepney and the PSC family for almost two years where her primary roles were providing leadership for the ministerial staff, helping to develop their spiritual growth, their ministries and equipping these servant-leaders to declare the word of God.
Elder Lewis attended Mary Mount University and is currently enrolled at Maple Springs Baptist Bible College and Seminary where she is studying to obtain a divinity degree.
In times of trouble, she recalls that peace of mind is essential in how she walks or grows through the difficult challenges of life, so she seeks God and searches the scriptures for the answers. One of her favorite scriptures is Philippians 4:7-8
