Elder Joanne began by listing many painful experiences such as grief, illness, financial struggles, betrayal, fear, depression, and uncertainty. Her message was that everyone experiences “dark places,” but believers do not walk through them alone because God is with them. She emphasized Psalm 23:4, “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for Thou art with me.” [2. Stay away from spiritual darkness and walk in God’s truth
A major warning in the sermon was against seeking guidance outside of God through horoscopes, fortune telling, divination, or other false spiritual practices. She taught that Christians already have the power of the Holy Spirit and should seek direction through God’s Word and prayer rather than worldly substitutes.3. God’s Word and God’s presence are the believer’s light in dark seasons
Using the life of David, she showed how he experienced failure, grief, fear, and consequences for his sins, yet God restored him because he repented and trusted the Lord. She repeatedly referenced Psalms 23, 51, 91, 27, and 121 to show that God’s promises provide protection, restoration, guidance, and hope. Her central encouragement was to know Scripture, speak God’s promises, and trust that all our help comes from the Lord. Views: 0
